Jeffrey J. Colburn, of Port Orange, Fla., was arrested around 3:15 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5 when New York State police stopped to help a disabled vehicle on I-95 in the village of Mamaroneck, said Trooper Michael P. Cassella.
While speaking with Colburn, the trooper found probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants, he added.
During the search, Colburn was found to be in possession of a loaded Glock Model 27, handgun, along with a loaded SCCY Model CPX-2 handgun. Also located during the search was approximately four grams of cocaine and one fentanyl transdermal 50 mcg/hr. strip, state police said.
Colburn was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Hawthorne where he was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a loaded weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance, felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, and several vehicle and traffic infractions.
He was remanded to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
Colburn is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 9.
